On September 19th 2015, Patrik Ringborg conducted the world première of Hans Gefors' opera Notorious, based on Alfred Hitchcock's spy thriller from 1946 at the Gothenburg Opera. The première was broadcast live by the Swedish Radio and the production, directed by Keith Warner, will be broadcast in 2016 by Swedish National Television and produced on DVD. Singers in the main parts include Nina Stemme, John Lundgren, Katarina Karnéus and Michael Weinius.

On May 19th, Patrik Ringborg was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. Among the other new members are Renée Fleming, Janine Jansen and Yo-Yo Ma.


On November 18th, Patrik Ringborg conducted the first professional performance ever in Germany of Hilding Rosenberg's fourth symphony The Revelation of St. John. Royal Court Singer Karl-Magnus Fredriksson sang the vast baritone part, Helene Stureborg's Chamber Choir from Stockholm the a cappella chorus part whereas the main chorus was sung by the Opera Chorus of the Kassel State Theatre. The Kassel State Orchestra, Germany's oldest orchestra, played the demanding orchestral part.

On January 23rd, 2016, Patrik Ringborg revisited the Royal Opera in Stockholm to conduct his second world première in this season: Medea, composed by renowned Swedish composer Daniel Börtz. Performances until February 2016.
Soloists are among others Emma Vetter in the title role and Karl-Magnus Fredriksson as Jason. The Royal Orchestra plays, joined by the ladies of the chorus of the Royal Opera Stockholm.

On March 5th the Kassel State Theatre presents a new production of Prokofiev's Love for Three Oranges under Patrik Ringborg's direction and staged by Dominique Menta.
Performances until July 2016.

The next première follows April 23rd at the Kassel State Theatre with Korngold's Die tote Stadt conducted by Patrik Ringborg and directed by Markus Dietz.
